Welcome! The goal of the Wisconsin Program for Scientific Teaching is to enhance undergraduate biology education by training a new generation of "scientific teachers," namely faculty and instructors who bring the rigor and spirit of science research to teaching. We invite the participation of faculty, graduate students, and postdocs by training them to become outstanding mentors and classroom teachers.

MENTOR TRAINING SEMINAR
Graduate students and postdocs in sciences who are interested in MENTORING an undergraduate researcher
Registration for the DELTA Mentor Training Seminar is now open! Sessions start May 18.
Originally developed by The Wisconsin Program for Scientific Teaching (WPST), the Mentor Training Seminar focuses on helping participants become more effective research mentors. Seminar discussions focus on different mentoring styles and strategies for developing confidence, independence, creativity, and communication skills in your mentees.
The mentor training seminar consists of 8 weekly one hour sessions in which participants address issues in mentoring through facilitated discussions led by faculty or staff using a format based on collaboration and collective problem solving.
We encourage you to explore the programs and resources we have made available. In addition, you may find our textbook, Scientific Teaching, helpful in understanding the unifying principles behind our program.
